Hello everyone,

I am very pleased to have the honour of being your President for 2025.

I have been a member of Moordown Bowling Club since 1999, and am delighted to represent my club in this role.

My chosen charity for my year in office is Bournemouth Heart Club. Opened in 1996, it is a centre of excellence in cardiac rehabilitation and operates as an independent charity. Originally created to aid the recovery and continued health of heart patients, it has now become a Keep Well Hub for people at risk of heart disease, and other serious health conditions, who wish to improve their physical fitness and mental wellbeing.

My late husband Alan was a cardiac patient, undergoing major surgery in 2015, followed by referral to the Heart Club for rehabilitation, at which time we both became members. I continue to attend sessions there, bowls commitments permitting!

This gives me a very personal attachment to this charity, and I trust you will all help me to raise much-needed funds to enable them to continue the work they do.

I look forward to meeting many of you as the season progresses; catching up with familiar faces and getting to know new ones. I wish you all a successful season, be that in leagues, competitions or friendlies, but most of all I wish you an enjoyable Summer of bowling.
