We regret to report the recent death of B&DBA Life Member, John Williams. John had served as the Association's Presesident in 2001 and continued as a member of the Asociation's Executive Committee until failing health caused him to retire in 2017. He was an ever present at all B&D functions including the 2019 Annual Luncheon in 2019. John had been a stalwart of Redhill Park Bowling Club right up until its demise in 2017. He had also served the bowls community as a qualified umpire for many years.
His funeral is on Tuesday 7 January - 12 noon at Bournemouth Crematorium.
The 2019 AGM was held on 7 December. A brief report of the matters decided follows:-
Peter Fisher (Argyll) succeeds Norman Weller as President. Steve Hack (Knyveton Gardens) was appointed Senior-Vice President. There is a vacancy for Junior Vice-President.
Former President, Mike Sykes (Knyveton Gardens), becomes Match Secretary after acting in that role for much of the previous season. Other officers remain unchanged. Two new committee members, Peter Blinkhorn and John Watts (both Pelhams) were appointed. There remains a vacancy for one committee position.
Blandford Bowling Club were accepted as a member club of the Association.
The General Secretary, Peter Kaye, gave details of the new badge scheme for matches and explained the concept of appointing B&DBA ambassadors within clubs. The various new badges were displayed.
A rule change applicable to Saturday Triples League matches where one team was able to field one team was adopted. The effect will be that the defaulting team can get no more than two points from the match. Rule 6f has been updated on the relevant page on this website.

We regret to report the passing, after a long illness, of Chris Tabor on 1st April 2019. Chris was a stalwart of New Milton BC having served in many capacities including President and Captain. He had also been very involved with the New Forest BA, becoming President for the 2001 season.
